- Finger Happy -

Lots of things going on these few days hence haven't really been able to update u guys. Anyway, I have been fully utilizing my camera-phone to snap a picture here and there these days hence you will get a barrage of pictures in this post.

First thing's first, CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs Lim Shu Fen [PiPi's eldest sister] on the birth of her beautiful baby girl! Been a few months of seeing her take care of her ever growing stomach and finally after a long wait the baby is finally out. No wonder her stomach was so big, her baby weighed in at 3.2kg at birth. [Average weight of a baby is 2.8-3.0 kg] Guess it must have been all those Chinese medicated herbs everybody's been stuffing her with. And the best part is, own cute-as-a-button little newborn is called Angel! That's what I intend to name my daughter in the future! Why? Cos all the Angels' I know are all pretty and smart! [By all I mean 2. But hey, 2 out of 2 is still 100% right?] And I'm sure this little Angel will grow up to be as pretty and smart as the rest of the Angels.

On a more serious side, the little sweetie is special from all the rest of the babies cause part of her right ear isn't fully formed. Hopefully her hearing isn't affected and it's just a small wrinkle that this kid can overcome with the right amount of confidence. Everybody let's take a minute to pray for this little Angel. I believe everything will be fine in the end.

Aww... So Kawaii~

Next on the list is the moving of PiPi's other sister's [she has 5 of them] house. We starting by bringing down all the stuff from her old home down to the ground floor with the help of the small lift that came installed in her HDB flat. This included all her clothes, shoes, electronics, cockery etc etc that was packed into over 30 bound and taped cardboard boxes. Oh, and did I mention the cupboards and woredrobes? That was the killer one. There were only 3 guys and 5 girls helping to bring the stuff down and of course being the "most sterdily built" guy among the 3, everybody was always worried when I helped to carry the heavy stuff like the box labelled "Heavy sia! Men Only pls =P" or those damn cupboards. Come on, those tiny mickey mouses on my arms ain't for show only right? Ever heard of chilli padi? Small but deadly. Yeah that's me.

Anyway, after we got all the stuff down [yeah, we managed to squeeze the cupboards into the lift 1 by 1] to the ground floor, we practically waited about 2 hours for the rented lorry to come. And when it finally found it's way here, it came with a big surprise. The owner of the lorry was the boss of some Coka-Cola thing and he carried vending machines up and down everyday... By himself! Can you imagine 1 person carrying an entire vending machine with the help of a mesly little trolley? And he wasn't even built like Mr Singapore Bodybuilder. I say again... Chilli Padi man. And he even brought along a worker with him!

They helped us load the stuff up to the lorry, which by the way had a hydrolic backing that was as high as the top of the lorry when closed, and we headed off to the new home. And guess what, that was the 1st time in my life that I have sat at the back of a lorry... wait, you gotta hear this...

In an office armchair!!

Amazing right! It just happened that they had an armchair to be brought over too and they just brought the whole thing up to the lorry. The obvious choice was to enjoy the breeze while relaxing on a cushioned seat right? Don't believe me? Here's a picture for you.

If you look closely, notice the black backing of the armchair!!

Damn shoik I tell you. And throughout the entire journey, we talked about MapleStory with the moving lady's husband. Yeah, another Maple freak. Currently lvl 100+ and still going strong.

And that's all for moving day, next up is the shopping for new furniture for their new home. Nothing much to write about here, only that we spotted this huge chair in one of the furniture malls and I had to take a picture of it.

I wonder how many people could actually squeeze onto that single chair. We could have set a Guniess World Record of the most number of people sat in a chair, but we couldn't be bothered. Oh and we actually sent the mother-to-be to the hospital halfway through the furniture shopping as she started to have contractions there and then. It really isn't what you all see on those drama serials [note the word DRAMA] where the mother-to-be screams and cries even to the point of having to be carried into the seat of the car just to drive her to the hospital. In actual fact, she could still do everything by herself besides the fact that she felt cramps every 10 to 15 minutes and and to sit down to rest for a bit. Other than that she still could walk to the car, fasten her own seatbelt and even give my directions during the car ride. That's why I say watching too much TV pulls you away from the real world.

Ok, for my last picture, it's just a random picture taken from a free postcard we grabbed at Jurong Entertainment Centre while queueing to by tickets for Snakes on A Plane, which is a nice show by the way...

At first I thought the postcard was describing me. You know, all the good traits about me. Responsible, Independent, Self-Motivated, Gorgeous, Humble... All that shit, but at a closer look it actually said Gregarious. Well, actually after a check at Dictionary.com I kinda felt that I was gregarious too. But anyway back to the point, so being the kind soul that I am I decided to edit the postcard so that they would get a much better response and get much better people [like me] to go for their job interviews... And here's what I came up with...

Now isn't that much better?

- My 1st TP Letter -

Yeah, you heard me right, I recieved my very 1st letter from the Traffic Police last Friday. The reason? I was caught speeding along Marine Parade road back to Bedok. Obviously Singapore traffic policemen have nothing better to do then to sit by the side of an EMPTY road and wait for people to drive past so they can take down their license number for speeding so as to fulfill their damn quota for the month/year.

What's wrong with driving at 70+ km/h on an EMPTY, I repeat EMPTY, major road? It's not as if I was weaving in and out of traffic trying to immitate a scene from Tokyo Drift or something. Come on, it was a straight road, and there were no cars around, so you expect people to drive at 60km/h on an empty road while birds fly past your car at a higher speed? Do you even know how slow 60 is? A student learning driving can go at 50km/h  while a driver who has been driving for god knows how long can only go at 60? Where's the logic in that?

Whatever the case, at least it was just a warning letter. And as usual, they are using their scare tactics by stating that I could have been fined and awarded demerit points if they wanted to. To me I feel they were just too lazy to stop me so they had to let me go.

If everyone drives ACCORDING to the road speed limits and abides by all the traffic rules, there would be a traffic jam on every other road you see. Where's the government's sense of logic? Haiz...

- Singapore Got It Wrong AGAIN! -

Quoted from the man himself, Ken. I don't understand how Singapore Idol can be called a TALENT search when one-by-one the talented people are being ousted while some dude with a propably rich circle of family/friends who has NO singing ability at all gets closer and closer to the finals every week.

Singapore please wake up your idea! He might be a pretty boy and stuff, but if you notice even the judges and hosts of the show are all trying to sway Singapore to kick one of the most untalented singers ever to join the competition.

Singapore, this is a SINGING contest for god's sake... Put me one on one against this guy in front of the judges and I dare say that the judges will definitely prefer me to the latter.

From my point of view, the show is 30% about talent, and 70% on who can rake in the biggest amount of cash for the producers. But it seems that they have wisen up slightly cos they finally realised that even if this guy wins the contest, they would be wasting their money and resources to make him a star cos NOBODY would buy his albums for the songs! They might as well produce a swimsuit calandar of him and sell it on the market. Hence they decide to get the hosts and judges to drop subtle hints to the public on who should be voted out, but apparently this person's friends/family don't want to spare him the shame of being boo-ed and critised week after week.

If there was ever a show where people could vote for who would be elimiated, I would definitely put in at least a 100 calls. To hell with the money, Singapore's talent stage is definitely worth more than that.

Here's a very subtle hint on who I think should have been kicked out long ago... Don't ask me for names if you can't get my subtle hint...

- Gatherings -

Had many a gathering last week. The bigger one was the NDP celebration gathering at CheeseCake Cafe just within walking distance from my place. Was kinda crowded and fun at the same time. Almost everybody involved was there to celebrate a successful NDP performance. Drinks, food and chatter were all free-flowing. Alias we didn't really get to mix about with the rest of the people apart from our usual selves and the 3 Guards personnel.

Anyway I played photographer on that day so if you want a glimpse into the action that took place that day just go ahead and click the link below.

The second gathering was a reunion of all Changi Team members, old and new. Throughout my entire NS life I never knew a team mroe united [in more ways than 1] than our Changi Team. We went through glory and shit together and can never be seperated. What's more, it seems that every time we have a Changi Team gathering, we would end up at Pizza Hut for our makan. It's always the case. And as the Changi Team tradition goes, after eating we would somehow or rather end up in a cybercafe to entertain the shit out of ourselves, and this hasn't changed till today.

Just wanna say thanks to all those who made both of these gatherings happen and a further hi-5 to all ex and current Changi Team members. Don't let the Changi team spirit down even after we ORD! 37 more days to go!!
